Upcoming Yamaha FZ-X Adventure Bike – What We Know So Far

We have reported earlier that Yamaha is planning to foray into the small capacity motorcycle segment with a 250cc adventure tourer. The upcoming motorcycle will be based on the Yamaha FZ25 and is reported to be named ‘Yamaha FZ-X’. The model will share its platform and some of its design bits and features with the FZ25. A latest digital rendering previews a possible design of the upcoming new Yamaha adventure motorcycle.

Design and styling of the rendered Yamaha FZX seems inspired by the Yamaha Tracer series. Upfront, the bike features sharply designed headlamp and a windshield. While its semi fairing looks borrowed from the Tracer family, the fuel tank extensions share resemblance to Yamaha FZS-25. However, the fuel tank design is slightly different than its sibling. The bike features a single piece handlebar with knuckle guards. The silver and black side panels with Yamaha moniker give it a sporty looks.

Some of its other key highlights include split seat, wire-spoke wheels with wide tyres, rear luggage rack and a massive black exhaust. The upcoming new Yamaha FZ-X might get the brand’s new Bluetooth connectivity feature. The adventure tourer is likely to come with the conventional suspension setup – telescopic forks upfront and monoshock at the rear. The units could be reworked for performing off-roading activities. The new Yamaha adventure bike might derive its stop power from the front and rear disc brakes along with ABS (anti-lock braking system).

As mentioned above, the new Yamaha FZX might source its engine from the FZ-25. The latter one has been powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that delivers a claimed power of 20.8PS at 8000rpm and 20.1Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. This air-cooled SOHC engine has been matched to a 5-speed gearbox.

More details on the upcoming new Yamaha FZ-X adventure tourer are likely to be revealed in near future. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
