We have listed down some of the highly anticipated Toyota models set for launch in the coming months.
After launching new-generation models of two of its best-selling cars, Fortuner and Innova in 2016, Toyota rolled out the new Prius and Camry Hybrid in India earlier this year. While Toyota did not introduce any major product in 2017, it is gearing up to add a slew of all-new vehicles to its range in the coming months. Here’s a complete list of upcoming Toyota cars that are slated to launch in India during 2018 and 2019, read out to know more.
Toyota India is planning to venture into the mid-size sedan segment with Vios sedan. The model is already retailed in the overseas markets, and is likely to be previewed at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. In terms of styling, expect the sedan will take cues from the new Corolla Altis and Camry. The V-shaped grille will sit in front and it will get LED parking lights with vertically placed DRLs for an enhanced look. At the side, it will sport rising beltline and supporting creases. Insides will be upmarket, packed with a string of comfort and connectivity bits. As for safety, it will receive ABS, EBD, dual airbags etc. For the Indian market, Toyota could use the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre oil burner along with a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

Another new model on the list of upcoming Toyota cars is the Rush compact SUV. The leaked images of the SUV went viral on the inter-web lately, giving insights into the styling and designing. That said, it gets Fortuner & Innova inspired bits for a contemporary look. Up front, there is a four-slat grille reminiscent of Innova, headlights bereft of LED DRLs, chunky bumper, round fog lamps encased in rectangular slots and large wing mirrors. From the sides, it looks modish and chic with the glasshouse that makes it appear longer. Under the skin, expect Rush to come with 1.4-litre diesel engine sourced from Corolla Altis, though we still await information to be revealed officially on the mechanical front.

Expected Launch – 2018 or 2019
Among all the upcoming Toyota cars slated to launch in 2018, 2019, this is probably the most expensive of all. The premium MPV will feature a three-row layout good to accommodate 7-8 adults. In Toyota’s India line-up, Alphard will be slotted above Innova and is expected to receive additional equipment over its sibling. That said, expect the hybrid MPV to pack in panoramic sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, sliding doors operated by a button etc. Power sources on the hybrid MPV are likely to include the 2.5-litre petrol hybrid powertrain from the Camry hybrid. This unit makes maximum power of 157.7bhp against 213Nm torque. Transmission duties are expected to be carried over by the 6-speed auto box supported by an electric four-wheel drive system.
