As mentioned about, the new Royal Enfield 650 cruiser will be based on the RE 650 twins. The former is likely to share its engine and platform with its donor sibling. It might source power from a 648cc, twin-cylinder motor that could be calibrated to offer cruiser like riding experience. In its current avatar, the motor produces a maximum power of 47bhp and 52Nm of torque.

The upcoming RE cruiser might also borrow its suspension and braking setup from the 650 twins. The bike is likely to feature upside down forks and twin shock absorbers at the front and rear respectively. It might feature the front and rear disc brakes that will be further assisted by the standard dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
