TVS Plans Electric Bikes, Scooters Across Segments

TVS Motor Company plans to expand its electric two-wheeler product portfolio in the “next 12 quarters” (i.e. 3 years). In a recent analyst meeting, K N Radhakrishnan, TVS CEO, said that the company aims to have electric models in “every segment” and change its EV strategy proactively at both fronts domestic and global. The home-grown two-wheeler maker will introduce its new electric models in its existing export markets and several developed nations including US, Europe and Japan.

He further revealed that TVS’s next electric model will be a “cool bike with the partnership of BMW, which is completely designed by us, and it is for the global market”. Besides working on its new EV product, the company will increase production of the TVS iQube e-scooter up to 25,000 units by March 2023. At present, the company has 25,000 bookings for the electric scooter.
