TVS Motor Company has rolled out a special edition of the Apache RTR 160 4V in the country. The model has been priced at Rs 1.30 lakh, thus making it around Rs 9,000 and Rs 6,000 more expensive than the standard Disc and Disc Bluetooth variant respectively. The new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V special edition comes in a new Pearl White colour scheme with contrast red accents on the fuel tank and seat. The alloy wheels have also been painted in red shade.
The new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V special edition also receives an updated ‘bullpup’ exhaust design. It has beefier exhaust muffler that’s said to be inspired by the Bullpup machine gun. The company claims that the newly-designed exhaust reduces the bike’s kerb weight by 1kg and deliver a sportier exhaust note. The special edition get adjustable levers as standard fitment. The bike also comes in the Matte Black paint scheme. No other changes have been made to the special edition.
For power, the new TVS Apache RTR 160 4V special edition uses the same 159.7cc, air-oil cooled, single-cylinder engine paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motor pushes out a peak power of 17.55PS at 9,250rpm and 14.73Nm at 7,250rpm. The bike has been equipped with the 90/90-17 front and 110/80-17 (drum) and 130/70-R17 (disc) rear tyres.
On the features front, the Apache RTR 160 4V offers a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, ABS (anti-lock braking system), LED headlamp and taillamps. It has three riding modes – Sport, Urban and Rain.
In other updates, the company is planning introduce a new electric scooter in the future. In fact, it has started testing the model that’s likely to be based on the Creon EV concept. Similar to the concept, the new TVS electric scooter might come with the lithium-ion battery packs and a 12kW electric motor.
