Maruti’s Most Expensive Car Coming Next Year – NEXA Only

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the Grand Vitara mid-sized SUV, which is currently the brand’s most expensive model in our market. The top-end variant of the Vitara costs somewhere around Rs 22.50 lakh (on-road). However, the company’s most expensive model is set to be launched in our market in 2023. Similar to the Grand Vitara & Hyryder, MSIL is planning to launch the re-badged version of the new Toyota Innova Hycross in our market in 2023.

The Toyota Innova Hycross is scheduled to be launched in January 2023. It will be offered in 5 variants and two engine options – a 2.0L NA petrol & a 2.0L TNGA petrol with a strong hybrid tech. It is a feature-loaded model and is expected to cost around Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. The new Innova Hycross is all set to rival the Kia Carnival & 7-seater SUVs including Safari and XUV700.

Upcoming Maruti MPV

Toyota will supply the new Innova Hycross to Maruti Suzuki, which will be re-badged and launched through NEXA premium dealership network. It is expected that Maruti’s version will arrive after 6 months of the launch of the new Hycross. The Maruti’s version will be the brand’s flagship offering and is expected to cost around Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.

Similar to the Grand Vitara, the Maruti’s upcoming MPV will be produced at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant. Before launching in our market, MSIL will make some changes to its styling. It is expected to receive some design changes in-line with the new Grand Vitara. Majority of the changes will be made to the front profile, featuring a new grille, revised headlamp setup and new bumper. The rear is expected to receive new tail-lights. The cabin is likely to remain the same, except for the new colour scheme.

It will be Maruti’s first model in our market to feature ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). The MPV will also receive panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 9-speaker JBL sound system, dual-zone climate control, powered driver seat with memory function, electrically adjustable second-row seats with ottoman function.

Powertrain options will include a 172bhp, 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 2.0-litre petrol with Toyota’s new-gen strong hybrid unit with a combined power output of 184bhp. The Toyota Innova Hycross is claimed to deliver a certified fuel economy of 21.1kmpl.
