TVS Motor Company is gearing up to launch a new electric scooter in the country. The model is currently in its initial testing phase and recently caught on camera in Bengaluru. The upcoming new TVS electric scooter is likely to be based on the Creon EV concept that first broke cover at the 2018 Auto Expo. The test mule, which was semi-camouflage, carries shaper design language. Its rectangular rear view mirrors seem to be borrowed from the TVS iQube.
One can notice a larger instrument panel, integrated grab rails and step-up seat design. It has a low-set, long seat and ergonomically positioned handlebar. Reports suggest that the upcoming new TVS electric scooter will share some of its components with the iQube.
Specifications of the new TVS electric scooter are still under the wraps. Though, the TVS Creon concept has three lithium-ion batteries with a 12kW electric motor. It was claimed to do 0 to 60kmph in 5.1 seconds and promise a range of 80km. The company might also use the iQube’s IP 67 lithium-ion battery packs with an electric motor fitted on the rear wheel delivering a peak power of 5.9bhp. The concept, which has been designed on an aluminium perimeter frame, comes with Cloud connectivity, geofencing, park assist, safety/anti-theft features, regenerative braking system and three riding modes. It also gets a TFT screen, a smartphone charger and an underseat storage.
In other updates, the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker will soon announce prices of the top-end TVS iQube ST variant. The model will be available in four colour options – Coral Sand Glossy, Copper Bronze Matte, Starlight Blue Glossy and Titanium Grey Matte. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen display with a new user interface. With a bigger 5.1kW battery, the iQube ST offers a range of up to 140km and can attain a top speed of 82kmph.
