The new Triumph Tiger 850 Sport has finally been launched in the Indian market. This road-focused entry-level Triumph Tiger is priced at Rs 11.95 lakh. It replaces the Tiger 9000 and sits below the Tiger 99 GT, which is priced at Rs 13.7 lakh.
Tiger 850 Specifications
The new Triumph Tiger 850 is powered by an 888cc, liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. This engine is capable of producing 84bhp at 8,500rpm and 82Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It comes with the T-plane crank and 1-3-2 firing order, which offers good tractability at low engine rpms.
The motorcycle is based on the Tubular steel frame with twin-sided, cast aluminum swing arm. The bike rides on 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel wrapped with 100/90-19 section and 150/70R17 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.
For suspension system, the bike gets Marzocchi 45mm upside down front forks and Marzocchi rear suspension with manual preload adjustment. The motorcycle gets Brembo Stylemas brakes with 320mm discs at the front and a 225mm disc on the rear, along with dual-channel ABS system. The motorcycle offers a seat height of 810-830mm (Rider can adjust the seat height), while the wheelbase stands at 1,556mm. The Triumph Tiger 850 has a dry weight of 192kg and fuel tank capacity of 20-litres.
The Triumph Tiger 850 comes with Ride-by-wire throttle with switchable traction control. It offers 2 riding modes – Road and Rain. The bike gets 5-inch TFT instrument console, all LED lighting with DRL, and adjustable screen with simple one-handed adjustment.
