Triumph Speed 400 Deliveries Start – Waiting Period Details

The Triumph Speed 400 has become one of the major bike launches of the year, receiving over 15,000 bookings in just a month, which highlights its popularity among enthusiasts. Deliveries of the motorcycle have commenced in major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. The introductory price for the Speed 400 is Rs 2.23 lakh, and the on-road prices start at Rs 2.67 lakh (Delhi).

The first 10,000 units of the motorcycle, offered at the special introductory price, have already been sold out. Now, the bike is available at Rs 2.23 lakh (ex-showroom). With this pricing, the Speed 400 directly competes with the newly-launched Harley-Davidson X440 (priced between Rs 2.29 lakh – Rs 2.69 lakh), as well as the KTM 390 Duke (Rs 2.97 lakh), BMW G 310R (Rs 2.85 lakh), and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (Rs 3.03 lakh – Rs 3.31 lakh). The waiting period for the Triumph Speed 400 ranges from 10 to 16 weeks, varying from city to city.

The Triumph Speed 400 is the most affordable offering from the British manufacturer in India, co-developed with Bajaj Auto. It is manufactured at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan facility in Maharashtra, which currently has a production capacity of 5,000 units per month. The bike is available in three paint schemes – Caspian Blue with Storm Grey, Carnival Red with Phantom Black, and Phantom Black with Storm Grey.

For power, the new Speed 400 uses a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 40bhp at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox for transmission and features a 43mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. The motorcycle is equipped with disc brakes at both the front and rear, ensuring excellent stopping power and safety on the road. It gets ABS (anti-lock braking system) that prevents wheel lock-up during sudden stops.
