Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the all-new mid-size SUV from the Japanese automaker, has finally gone on sale in India. Here, the model will take directly on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the soon-to-be-launched Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Interestingly, we have got prices of the four top-end variants of the Toyota Hyryder including V mild hybrid, S strong hybrid, G strong hybrid and V strong hybrid. All aforementioned models are available at Rs 17.09 lakh, Rs 15.11 lakh, Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 18.99 lakh respectively.

When compared to its arch rival – Hyundai Creta, the Toyota Hyryder has been priced very well. Prices of the Creta’s top-end petrol trims (SX, SX+) start from Rs 13.59 lakh and go up to Rs 18.15 lakh. One must note that Hyundai’s SUV misses out on the AWD (all-wheel drive) system. On the other hand, the Hyryder’s top-end petrol mild hybrid variant comes with the AWD and a manual gearbox.
In terms of features, the Toyota Hyryder’s top variant offers features such as a panoramic sunroof (standard), a 360 degree camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, leatherette seats, driver modes (AWD only), Arkamys surround sound system, hill descent control (AWD only) and tyre pressure monitoring system (strong hybrid only).
The Hyundai Creta’s range-topping SX (O) trim comes with a 7.0-inch instrument cluster, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, leather upholstery, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, remote engine start stop, powered driver’s seat, front ventilated seats, height adjustable front seat belts and 6 airbags. The Creta SX (O) variants are available with the 1.5L petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine options. There is no hybrid powertrain.
The Toyota Hyryder has been offered with the brand’s 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle (114bhp) and 1.5L K15C mild hybrid (103bhp) powertrain options. The strong hybrid setup delivers a claimed mileage of 27.97kmpl. The Hyundai Creta petrol, on the other hand, promises fuel efficiency of 17kmpl.
