Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that it will announce prices of the all-new Grand Vitara mid-size SUV towards the end of September 2022. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be revealed. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 11,000. According to its homologation documents, the Maruti Grand Vitara SUV model lineup will be available in 10 variants spread across six trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+.
The company has already revealed that the Grand Vitara SUV will be made available with two hybrid powertrains – 1.5L K15C mild hybrid (103bhp/137Nm) and 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle (115bhp). While the former can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the latter will get an eCVT transmission. Suzuki’s All-Grip AWD system will be optional offering available only on the Alpha manual trim. The SUV model lineup will have 8 mild hybrid and 2 strong hybrid variants.
Talking about the mileage, the Maruti Grand Vitara mild hybrid manual and automatic 2WD variants are said to deliver 21.11kmpl and 20.58kmpl respectively. The All-Grip AWD model will promise 19.38kmpl and the strong hybrid version with eCVT gearbox will return 27.97kmpl. The SUV’s manual 2WD, automatic 2WD and manual 4WD variants have gross weight of 1,645kgs, 1,755kgs and 1,720kgs respectively. The SUV will be offered in 9 colour schemes including 3 dual-tone and 6 monotone shades. The dual-tone paint schemes are Arctic White with Black roof, Opulent Red with Black roof and Splendid Silver with Black roof. The single-tone palette includes Nexa Blue, Chestnut Brown, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver and Opulent Red.
Some of its key features include full LED lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch instrument cluster, leather wrapped steering with mounted controls, an Arkamys sound system, wireless charging system, head-up display unit, a panoramic sunroof, cruiser control and more.
