Toyota Kirloskar Motor has confirmed that it will soon launch the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG in the country. Ahead of its market arrival, the carmaker has started accepting pre-bookings for the model at an initial sum of Rs 25,000. Similar to the newly-launched Glanza CNG, the Toyota Hyryder CNG will be made available in S and G trims. Interestingly, it will be the first car in its segment to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Powertrain setup of the Toyota Hyryder CNG includes the 1.5L K15C, 4-cylinder petrol engine. It’s the same motor that powers the CNG Ertiga and XL6 MPVs. Its power and torque figures are yet to be revealed. Though, we expect it to deliver a maximum power of 88bhp and 121.5Nm of torque (in CNG mode) as it does in the XL6. Transmission on offer will be a 5-speed manual gearbox. The carmaker has confirmed that the Hyryder CNG mileage will be 26.10km/kg. It’s slightly less than the Maruti XL6 CNG that offers 26.32km/kg.
Save for the CNG badging, no other changes will be made to the Toyota Hyryder CNG. The SUV’s S trim offers features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, Alex and Google assistance, connected car features, 4 speaker audio system, steering mounted controls, reverse parking camera, paddle shifters and cruise control.
The mid-spec Toyota Hyryder G variant has been packed with goodies like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker Arkamys sound system, a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, wireless charging, Head-up display, 6 airbags, chrome window line garnish, auto folding outside wing mirrors, rear wiper and washer, 17-inch alloy wheels and full LED headlamps.
Compared to its petrol counterpart, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG version will be priced slightly premium. At present, the SUV’s petrol-powered S and G variants are available within the price range of Rs 12.28 lakh – Rs 15.54 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
