Hyundai Aura Sedan – Which Variant To Buy?

Launched in January 2020, the Hyundai Aura is a strong contender against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Available in five variants, it comes with a host of the segment’s first features and a wide range of powertrain options. So, which variant-engine combination of the Hyundai Aura will suit you best? Let’s find out the answer through its details analysis.

Hyundai offers the Aura with two engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol. Starting with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, it makes 83PS of maximum power and 114Nm of peak torque. It is highly refined and suitable for both daily commutes & highway runs. A bi-fuel (petrol-CNG) mill is also available for buyers concerned about rising fuel prices. And those who want a fun driving experience shouldn’t shy away from the turbocharged engine. However, it’s not a hardcore performance-oriented version.

Dimensions and Cabin Space

Length3995mm
Width1680mm
Height1520mm
Wheelbase2450mm
Ground Clearance
Boot Space≈ 402L
  • The Hyundai Aura is 3995mm long, 1680mm wide, 1520mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2450mm.
  • The sub-4m sedan offers a respectable cabin space. Its front seats are pretty comfortable and provide adequate thigh and back support. However, large-framed individuals will find the seats narrow. Nonetheless, Hyundai has added 60mm of side bolstering to enhance the rear seat experience. Compared to the Nios, its backrest angle is relaxed. However, the knee room is essentially the same, so sitting two six-footers behind one another will be slightly troublesome. However, it can accommodate four adults with an average build very comfortably.
  • Speaking of the boot, it offers approximately 402 litres of space, the second biggest in its class after the Honda Amaze.
