In the list of top 10 selling cars, Tata Motors’ newly launched Punch micro SUV has secured the 10th position and the Nexon compact SUV stood at 8th position.
Automakers has released their October 2021 sales number. It is clear that SUVs are rapidly outperforming small cars and hatchbacks to gain majority of the sales share in the market. Hyundai’s Venue sub-4 meter SUV become the top-selling SUV in October 2021, while the newly launched Punch micro SUV has also managed to secure impressive sales for the homegrown automaker.

– Hyundai sold 10,554 cars in October 2021 as compared to 8,828 units in the same month last year. The small SUV recorded a year-on-year growth of 19.5 percent.
– Kia Seltos received positive response, as it secured second position in the list of top 10 selling SUVs in October 2021. Kia Sold 10,448 units of Seltos as against 8,900 units in October 2020; thus recording a YOY growth of 17.8 percent.
– Tata Nexon remains hugely popular among buyers, as it recorded a year on year sales growth of 46.5 percent. The company sold 10,096 units of Nexon in October 2021 as against 6,888 units sold in the same month last year.
– Tata Motors newly launched Punch micro SUV secured 4th position. In less than 1 month, Tata Motors sold 8,453 units of the Punch. In fact, the small SUV entered the list of top 10 selling cars in October 2021.
– Maruti Suzuki delivered 8,032 units of the Vitara Brezza compact SUV in October 2021 as against 12,087 units in the same month last year. It recorded a year on year sales decline of 33.5 percent.
– Hyundai is facing semi-conductor chip shortage, which impacted the production of the Creta SUV. The SUV recorded 6,455 units sale in October 2021 as against 14,023 units in the same month last year. It recorded a YOY sales decline of 53.9 percent.
– Kia Sonet is at 7th position in the list of top 10 selling SUVs, as it recorded a year on yer sales decline of 53.5 percent. Kia deliverd 5,443 cars in October 2021 as against 11,721 units in the same month last year.
– The Mahindra XUV300 received a year-on-year sales decline of 13.9 percent with 4,203 units sold in October 2021 as against 4,882 units in the same month last year. The newly launched XUV700 entered the list of top 10-selling SUVs, as Mahindra delivered 3,407 units in October 2021.
– Nissan Magnite beats Renault Kiger to secure 10th position in the list of top 10 selling SUVs in October 2021. The company sold 3,389 units in the last month.
