August 2021 car sales report reveals that Maruti Suzuki cars still have a huge lead over its rivals in the competitive Indian market. Maruti Suzuki sold 15,646 units of the Baleno hatchback in August 2021 as compared to 10,742 units in the same month last year. It is also the top-selling model in the Indian market, as the Baleno reported a year-on-year growth of 46%.
– Maruti Alto grabs the second position with 13,236 units sold in the month of August 2021. However, the hatch received a year-on-year negative growth of 8%. Maruti Suzuki had delivered 14,397 units in the month of August 2020.
– Maruti Vitara Brezza beats Hyundai Creta to become India’s best-selling SUV. It ranked 3rd in the list of best-selling cars in the month of August 2021. Maruti Suzuki delivered 12,906 units as against 6,903 units in the same month last year. The SUV recorded a year-on-year growth of 87%.

– Hyundai Creta is at the 4th position with 12,597 units sold in the month of August 2021. The company had delivered 11,758 units in the same month last year, as it recorded a year-on-year growth of 7 percent.
– Maruti Suzuki Swift recorded a negative YOY growth of 16%. Maruti Suzuki sold 12,483 units of Swift in August 2020 as against 14,869 units in the same month last year. Maruti Eeco grabs sixth position with a total sales of 10,666. It recorded a YOY growth of 17%.
– Tata Nexon continues to impress with its huge demand in the compact SUV segment. It is the second best-selling sub-4 meter SUV in the country with a total sales of 10,006 units in the month of August 2021. It recorded a massive YOY growth of 93%.
– Maruti Suzuki WagonR is the 8th best-selling model in August 2021. MSIL delivered 9,628 units as against 13,770 units in August 2020, thus recording a YOY decline of 30%.
– Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue grab 9th and 10th position respectively in the list of top 10 selling cars in August 2021, Kia sold 8,619 units of the Seltos, while Hyundai delivered 8,377 units of the Venue subcompact SUV.
