Tata Tigor EV Delivered to Ministry of AYUSH

Tata Motors partners with the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), to supply Tigor Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Delhi, as a part of its tender with EESL. The first batch of Tigor EVs was handed over to Shri P.N. Ranjit Kumar, Joint Secretary (Admin), Ministry of AYUSH by Mr. Raj Kumar Luthra, General Manager at EESL. The carmaker rolled out the updated Tata Tigor EV with extended range in late 2019.

At present, the electric subcompact sedan comes in three variants – XE+, XM+ and XT+ – priced at Rs 9.54 lakh, Rs 9.70 lakh and Rs 9.85 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, including DPCC incentive and govt. FAME incentive. It doesn’t include the price of the accessory kit that consists of front grille inserts and wheel covers.

While the extended range Tigor EV offers an ARAI-certified range of 213km, the standard model promises a range of 142km. The former has a 21.5kWh battery pack instead of the 16.2kWh system that enhances its range by 50%. The electric subcompact sedan has been powered by a 72V, 3-phase AC induction motor pushing out power worth 41bhp at 4,500rpm and 105Nm of torque at 2,500rpm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a single-speed gearbox. It supports both AC and DC fast charger. The model offers two driving modes – Drive and Sport. On the feature front, the Tata Tigor EV offers 14-inch alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna, LED taillamps, a 2-DIN audio system by Harman with Bluetooth, Aux and USB connectivity and height adjustable driver’s seat. All these features are reserved for the top-end trim. While the entry-level XE+ variant gets only driver side airbag, the XM+ and XT+ comes with dual airbags along with the anti-lock braking system (ABS). The electric compact sedan can be had in three different colours – Roman Silver, Egyptian Blue and Pearlescent White.
