Tata Motors will soon expand the Tiago NRG model line-up with an addition of a new entry-level variant. The carmaker recently dropped a teaser confirming the imminent launch of the Tata Tiago NRG XT trim. Though, its details are still under wraps. Since the new variant will sit below the XZ+, it will miss out on some features. The former comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, 4 speakers audio system, Tata ConnectNext app, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, front and rear power windows, central locking, rear park assists with display, auto door lock and follow-me-home headlamps.
The new Tata Tiago NRG XT variant is expected to offer blacked-out B-pillar, rear parcel shelf, vanity mirror on the passenger side and height adjustable driver’s seat. The hatchback’s NRG version, which received an update in August 2021, features sharper headlamp and differently designed grille than the standard Tiago. Its front and rear bumpers also look different.
The new Tiago NRG XT trim is likely to share the features with the standard Tiago XT trim. The features include steering-mounted audio and Telephony controls, and a 4-speaker music system, and steel wheels with full wheel covers. For safety and security, the NRG XT will get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, cornering stability control, rear parking sensors, speed alert and seat-belt reminder.
The new Tata Tiago NRG XT variant will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that powers the regular model. It is capable of producing 86PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
The Tata Tiago NRG range is available in the price bracket of Rs 6.83 lakh to Rs 7.38 lakh. Set to be positioned below the current line-up, the Tata Tiago NRG XT likely to cost around Rs 6.3 lakh to Rs 6.8 lakh. For reference, the standard Tiago XT hatchback is priced at Rs 6 lakh for manual and Rs 6.55 lakh for AMT version.
