Car manufacturers in India have released the sales numbers for the month of July 2022. Most of the auto makers have posted positive sales growth last month. In this article, we talk about the sales numbers for Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra.
Maruti Suzuki July 2022 Sales
Maruti Suzuki has reported a total sale of 1,75,916 in the month of July 2022. The domestic sales, OEM and exports account for 1,45,666 units, 9,939 units and 20,311 units respectively. The entry-level mini segment (Alto & S-Presso) recorded a total of sales of 20,333 units as against 19,685 units in July 2021. The compact segment (Baleno, Dzire, Ignis, Celerio, Swift, Tour S and WagonR) accounts for 84,818 units, while the UV range (Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6) managed a total sale of 23,272 units in July 2022.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco Van recorded a total sale of 13,048 units in July 2022 as against 10,057 units in the same month last year. In the domestic PV segment, the company reported a year-on-year sales growth of 6.8 percent. The company sold 2,816 units of the Super Carry LCV in July 2022 as against 2,768 in the same month last year.
Hyundai Sales July 2022
Hyundai has reported a 6 per cent rise in total sales at 63,851 units in July 2022. In the same month last year, the Korean automaker had sold 60,249 units. In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 50,500 units in July 2022 as against 48,042 units in July 2021. The company reported a year-on-year sales growth of 5.1 percent. The brand’s exports grew 9.4 per cent at 13,351 units as compared to 12,207 units in the same month last year.
“With the improvement in the semiconductor situation, the passenger vehicle segment is showing positive trends riding on the green shoots of pent-up demand and customer desire towards personal mobility,” HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing & Service), Tarun Garg (Director Sales, Marketing & Service) said.
Tata Sales July 2022
Tata Motors has reported a massive 57 per cent year-on-year sales growth in July 2022. The company sold 47,505 vehicles last month compared to 30,185 vehicles in July 2021. The brand’s CNG sales were highest ever in July 2022. The company sold 5,293 CNG powered cars including the Tigor CNG and the Tiago CNG last month. Moreover, the SUV sales contributes to 64% of total Tata sales – reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 105 per cent.
The Tata Punch has also reported its highest ever monthly sales since its launch in October 2021. The company sold 11,007 Punch SUVs in July 2022. Tata Motors has sold 4,022 electric vehicles in July 2022, reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 566%. In the same month last year, Tata sold 604 electric vehicles in the country.
Mahindra Sales July 2022
Mahindra has reported a 33 per cent sales growth in the month of July 2022. The company recorded a total PV sale of 28,053 in July 2022 as against 21,046 in the same month last year. The company sold 27,854 SUVs as against 20,797 units, which is a healthy year-on-year rise of 34 percent. However, the sales of cars and vans dropped by 20 per cent. Mahindra only sold 199 units in July 2022 as compared to 249 units in the same time last year. The company has also registered a 4.4% MoM growth in sales.
Commenting on the sales, Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. Said, “We continued our strong performance with sales of 27,854 SUVs in July, registering a growth of 34% fueled by robust demand for all our brands including XUV700, Thar, Bolero and XUV300. Our Commercial Vehicles also registered growth and exports were up at 32%. The supply chain situation continues to remain dynamic, and we are monitoring the situation closely.”
