Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited sub-compact SUV, called the Tata Punch. It is expected to be launched in the month of October 2021. The new micro SUV is based on the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), which also underpins the Altroz hatchback.
To be positioned below the Nexon compact SUV, the Tata Punch will rival the Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite and the soon-to-be-launched Citroen C3. The new model is designed on the brand’s new IMPACT 2.0 design language, which we have already seen on the new Altroz and the Harrier. The new Punch has been spotted near Balewadi in Pune. The fully undisguised model is finished in orange colour, with black roof and plastic cladding.
The spotted model looks nice, and is likely to be the top-spec model. It gets machined cut alloy wheels, LED DRLs, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, roof rails, blacked-out pillars and body-colour door-handles. The Tata Punch micro SUV has C-pillars integrated door handles and squared wheel arches.
Design highlights include black plastic cladding, big front bumper, split headlamp setup with LED DRLs on top and main headlamps on lower bumper, and LED tail-lamps in a tri-arrow shape. The micro SUV rides on 16-inch alloys; however, the lower-spec models are expected to feature 15-inch steel wheels with covers.
The Tata Punch will share the interiors with the Altroz hatchback. It will get a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console, height adjustable driver seat, a multi-functional steering wheel, push button start, climate control, etc. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera, etc will come as safety features. The vehicle could also get hill start assist. It will also get multi drive modes and terrain modes settings.

Tata dealers have started accepting pre-orders for the new Punch at a token amount of Rs 5,000 to Rs 21,000, which is refundable on cancellation. However, Tata Motors is yet to make an official announcement. It is rumoured to be launched in the mid-October, around Dusshera.
Tata Punch Engine Specs
