Tata Motors has recently launched the highly-anticipated Punch EV in the country at an introductory price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has now commenced deliveries of the Tata Punch EV across India. This electric SUV can be booked online or at authorised Tata dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.
The Tata Punch EV is available in 5 trim levels – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+ – and two battery pack options – the 25kWh Standard Range and the 35kWh Long Range. The Long Range version is also offered with an optional 7.2kW AC fast charger, which costs an additional Rs 50,000. Adding to it, customers will have to pay an additional 50,000 for sunroof.
Tata Punch EV First Look
The Tata Punch EV Standard Range (25kWh) is available in 5 variants – Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ – priced in the range of Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 13.29 lakh. The Long Range (35kWh) version is offered in 3 variants – Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ – priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both variants are offered with a front-axle mounted electric motor. The standard variant with 25kWh battery pack is claimed to offer a range of 315km on a single charge. The electric motor is rated at 82PS and 114Nm of torque. The Long-Range iteration offers 122PS and 190Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer an extended range of 421km on a single charge. The Punch EV is offered with two charging options – a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger (optional).
The Tata Punch EV is also offered with a 50kW DC fast charging system, which charges the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 56 minutes. The e-SUV offers two driving modes – City and Sport. The electric SUV is based on the Acti-ev platform, which will also underpin bigger electric SUVs including the Harrier EV and the Curvv.
In terms of features, the electric SUV gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Androud Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, a blind spot monitor, leatherette seats, an air purifier, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, electric sunroof, and others.
