Tata Motors has confirmed that the bookings for its upcoming Punch micro SUV will begin from 4th October 2021. The automaker will reveal the model and its key details on the same day. While its launch date is yet to be announced, we expect it to hit roads in the third or fourth week of October. The mini SUV has already started arriving at dealerships across the country. Deliveries of the new Tata Punch are likely to start near around Diwali.
As per the leaked information, the new Tata SUV will come in four trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The model lineup will be offered in 9 colour options including 3 monotone (Grey, White and Stonehenge) and 6 dual-tone (Grey and Black, White and Black, Urban Bronze and Black, Orange and Black, Stonehenge and Black and Blue and White). One must note that the dual-tone paint schemes will be exclusively offered on the range-topping trim and the base trim will come in a single White monotone shade.
The upcoming Punch mini SUV is Tata’s second production model to underpin the Alfa platform that’s already used in the Altroz premium hatchback. In terms of dimensions, it’s reported to measure around 3840mm in length, 1822mm in width and 1635mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm. The mini SUV will have a ground clearance of 187mm. Powering the new Tata micro SUV will be a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes a top power of 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. It’s the same powertrain that does duty in the Tiago and Altroz hatchbacks. The mini SUV will come with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. It will also have engine start//stop function along with the segment-first traction modes.
