Tata Nexon XM(S) Trim Launched at Rs 8.36 Lakh; Gets Sunroof

Seeing the growing competition, Tata Motors has launched the new Nexon XM(S) variant. Priced at Rs 8.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new variant offers high-end features at a more affordable price tag.

The Tata Nexon XM(S) shares features and equipment levels with the XM variant; however, it gets some additional premium features. This model comes equipped with electric sunroof, which makes it the most affordable Nexon trim to offer sunroof. This variant also comes equipped with some high-end features like automatic projector headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

Other features include multi-functional steering wheel, Harman-sourced ConnectNext infotainment system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Control, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and revese parking sensors. The Tata Nexon XM(S) trim is available manual as well as in AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) versions. The manual petrol and diesel versions are priced at Rs 8.36 lakh and Rs 9.70 lakh respectively. On the other hand, the Nexon XM (S) AMT costs Rs 8.96 lakh for petrol and 10.36 lakh for diesel. The Nexon is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel version gets a 1.5-litre turbo unit that is good for 108bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit.

The Tata Nexon is available at a price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 12.7 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The SUV directly rivals the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the soon-to-be-launched Kia Sonet. The company is also readying the DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) equipped version of the Nexon compact SUV, which is rumoured to be launched in the coming months.
