Kia Sonet Prices To Be Released On September 18, 2020

The long-awaited Kia Sonet compact SUV will officially go on sale in the country on September 18, 2020. Interested buyers can pre-book the new SUV online or via visiting dealerships at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The upcoming Sonet will be offered in two trim levels – HT Line and GT Line.

The Kia Sonet compact SUV will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 81bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. The 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is available with 3 gearbox options – a 6-speed MT, an iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) and a 7-speed DCT. Upcoming Compact SUVs (1)

The 1.5L turbo-diesel engine will come in two states of tunes – a 99bhp/215Nm with 6-speed MT and a 113bhp/245Nm with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. If reports are to be believed, the Sonet’s 1.2L and 1.0L turbo petrol variants will offer a certified fuel economy of 18.4kmpl and 18.2kmpl respectively. The diesel manual and automatic versions will return 24.1kmpl and 19kmpl respectively.

The Kia Sonet compact SUV will be offered with multiple colour options including Intense Red, Beige Gold, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver, Intelligency Blue, Glacier White Pearl and Clear White. Customers can also opt for dual-tone colour options – Intense Red, Beige Gold and Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl. In terms of proportions, the Sonet is 3,995mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,610mm tall. The SUV sits on a wheelbase of 2,500mm. It is claimed to offer a boot space of 392-litres.
