Tata Nexon CNG Launch This Year – Brezza CNG Rival

The homegrown UV maker, Tata Motors is regularly adding CNG options to its existing models. After introducing the Tiago and Tigor CNG Models, Tata Motors is now ready to introduce the CNG version of the Nexon compact SUV. In fact, the Tata Nexon CNG has recently been showcased at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in Delhi.

The Nexon CNG version will be the first turbo-petrol CNG car in the segment, and will challenge the Maruti Brezza CNG. The exact launch timeline is yet to be revealed, but we expect the new models to be introduced during the festive season before Diwali. Tata Motors has also confirmed that the Nexon CNG will be introduced this year.

Tata Nexon CNG features

The Nexon CNG will be powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine combined with Tata’s innovative twin CNG cylinder technology. However, Tata stays away from revealing the power and torque figures along with fuel efficiency numbers. This twin-cylinder setup is also offered on the Tiago and the Tigor CNG. The two CNG cylinder tanks are placed under the boot floor, which ensures no damage to boot space. Adding to it, the spare wheel is positioned underneath the car for practicality.

The overall styling is identical to the conventional petrol & diesel Nexon. The SUV comes with a single ECU for quick shift between CNG to petrol mode. The Tata Nexon CNG will also start directly in CNG mode and has an auto switch between fuels function.

Not just the Nexon CNG, Tata Motors has also confirmed that the Curvv SUV Coupe will also go on sale in our market this year. The electric version will arrive first, followed by the ICE version. At the Bharat Mobility Show, Tata has also confirmed that the Curvv SUV will also come with a diesel powertrain. It will get a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that also powers the Nexon.
