Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) Variant Launched – Price, Features

Hyundai India had launched the i20 facelift in our market in September 2023. In order to offer more options to buyers, the Korean automaker has introduced a new Sportz (O) trim in the hatchback line-up. Priced at Rs 8.73 lakh, the Hyundai i20 Sportz (O) is Rs 35,000 more expensive than the Sportz trim. The dual-tone variant is tagged at Rs 8.88 lakh.

The new i20 Sportz (O) variant looks largely identical to the regular Sportz variant; however, Hyundai has added more features to make it more lucrative. This variant comes equipped with a single-pane sunroof, which was earlier offered on the higher-spec Asta and Asta (O) variants. It also has wireless phone charging function and a faux leather upholstery for the armrests on the doors. 

Other features include height-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, a rear parking camera and 16-inch steel wheels. For safety and security, the new i20 Sportz (O) variant gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and Vehicle Stability Management Control. 

Specifications

The new Sportz (O) variant of the Hyundai i20 is powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 114.7Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. With CVT gearbox, the same powertrain produces 87bhp and 114.7Nm of torque. 

The hatchback is positioned against the likes of the Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza and the Maruti Baleno. Hyundai is also offering a performance oriented i20 N Line, which is equipped with a 118bhp, 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
