Tata Motors is continuously posting staggering sales numbers in the Indian market. The company has reported a massive 57 per cent year-on-year sales growth in July 2022. The homegrown automaker sold 47,505 vehicles last month compared to 30,185 vehicles in July 2021.
Tata Motors claims that the CNG sales were highest ever in July 2022. The company sold 5,293 CNG powered cars including the Tigor CNG and the Tiago CNG last month. Moreover, the SUV sales contributes to 64% of total Tata sales – reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 105 per cent. The brand’s smallest SUV, the Tata Punch has also received an overwhelming response from car buyers. Tata Motors sold 11,007 Punch SUVs in July 2022, which is also highest since its launch on October 18, 2021.
Tata Motors has sold 4,022 electric vehicles in July 2022, reporting a year-on-year sales growth of 566%. In the same month last year, Tata sold 604 electric vehicles in the country. Tata Motors had sold 45,197 vehicles in June 2022. The company has reported a month-on-month sales growth of 9.5 per cent.
Tata Motors is currently selling the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Nexon, Safari and the Harrier in the Indian market. In the EV category, the homegrown automaker is selling the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV. In the near future, the company will launch the electrified version of the Altroz and the Punch. Moreover, Tata will launch the Curvv concept based EV in the country by 2024.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales
Tata Motors has sold 34,154 commercial vehicles in July 2022 as against 23,848 CVs in the same month last year. The company has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 43 per cent. The company exported 2,681 CVs in July 2022 as against 2,052 units in the same month last year, reporting a year-on-year export growth of 31%.
