Tata Motors has launched the XTA+ variants of the Harrier and Safari SUVs in the country. The new variants are equipped with 6-speed automatic gearbox and a panoramic sunroof. The Harrier XTA+ is priced at Rs 19.34 lakh, while the Safari XTA+ is priced at Rs 20.08 lakh.
Tata claims that the Harrier and Safari are collectively leading the high SUV segment with a 41.2% market share. By introducing new XTA+ variants, Tata Motors will aim to further improve sales of its flagship SUVs in the country.

The new XTA+ variants are equipped with host of features such as the projector headlamps, dual-function LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speakers, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, push button start, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers. Adding to it, the Tata Safari comes with iRA connected car features, mood lighting, cruise control and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). The new XTA+ variants are equipped with dual front airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), fog lamps & reverse parking camera as standard.
The Tata Safari and the Harrier XTA+ variants are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. It is paired to a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Tata’s Kryotec diesel engine is said to be inspired by Cryogenic rocket engine. It has low friction valve train architecture and an advanced EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) to meet stringent emission standards.
