Tata Curvv EV Coming Within Months – Creta EV, Maruti EV Fighter

Tata Motors has set ambitious goals for both the Indian electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicle markets, aiming to secure the position of the second-largest automaker in the country. The company has recently confirmed the launch of four new EVs, including the updated Nexon EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, and Curvv EV.

The new Tata Nexon EV is expected to hit the market within the next few months, followed by the Harrier EV and Punch EV by the end of this year. The highly anticipated Tata Curvv is scheduled for release in the first half of 2024, with the option of petrol and diesel engines becoming available a few months after the Curvv EV launch.

The production-ready version of the Tata Curvv EV might be named ‘Tata Frest,’ as indicated by a trademark application filed by the automaker. Specific details regarding the SUV’s specifications are yet to be disclosed by Tata, but it has been confirmed that the electric SUV will offer a range of approximately 400km to 500km. The ICE version of the vehicle is likely to be equipped with Tata’s new 1.2L direct-injected petrol engine, generating 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. The final model of the Curvv is expected to remain faithful to its concept design, showcasing Tata’s new ‘Digital’ design language and next-generation electric architecture. Minor aesthetic differences will distinguish the electric and ICE variants. As the model is currently undergoing testing, prototypes have been spotted multiple times, revealing intriguing details. Both the Tata Curvv EV and ICE versions will feature dual free-standing digital screens – one for the infotainment system and another for the instrument cluster.

The new Tata coupe SUV will also be equipped with numerous other features, including a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, auto park assist, dual-zone climate control with dual toggles, a floating center console, a center armrest, a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo in the center, and a rotary gear selector, among other amenities.
