Tata Avinya EV Concept Makes India Debut at 2023 Auto Expo

The Tata Avinya EV concept has finally made its India debut at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo alongside the Curvv EV concept. Both concepts had their world premiere in April last year. While the Avinya EV is based on the brand’s ‘Born Electric’ (Gen 3) platform, the Curvv has been designed on the Gen 2 architecture. The carmaker said that its Gen 3 platform “eliminates the constraints of multi energy and provides freedom of pure EV”. It has been designed to provide more space with the same footprint. Tata’s Gen 3 platform based electric cars will be packed with advanced features and technologies. The company is aiming to offer a minimum range of 500km with its all ‘Born Electric’ EVs.

With minimalistic design language, the Tata Avinya looks quite futuristic. Upfront, the concept features a uniquely designed grille, slim headlamps, full width LED light bar that appears a stretched out ‘T’ badge and splitter. The side profile has a strong shoulder line running across its length, blacked-out A pillars and a glass roof. At the rear end, the EV concept features full width taillamps similar to the headlamp units.

Inside, the Avinya EV concept has a dashboard integrated, slim display, placed above the sound bar. You will also notice a screen at the far ends of the dashboard showing the feed from the wing-mounted rear view cameras. It has a new steering wheel with an integrated screen displaying all other information and controls. The concept comes with 5-seats configuration featuring the rear bench style seats and the modern bucket seats up front.

As mentioned above, Tata’s ‘Born Electric’ EVs will offer the next-generation connectivity features and ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems). The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its battery details, but confirmed that it will support ultra-fast charging and provide a minimum range of 500km in less than 30 minutes.
