Tata Altroz EV Coming To 2023 Auto Expo – Teaser Out

Tata Motors’s pavilion at the 2023 Auto Expo will surely be super exciting with a range of new and updated models, electric vehicles (EVs) and ADAS technology display. A day before the mega automotive event, the carmaker has dropped a teaser video showing silhouette of its electric range that will debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. The range is likely to include the Altroz EV, Punch EV, Harrier EV, Safari EV, Curvv EV and Avinya EV. The electric iterations of the Tata Altroz EV and Punch EV are expected to go on sale sometime this year.

Talking about the Tata Altroz EV, the model has been on test for a long time in the country. While Tata hasn’t yet revealed its powertrain details, the model is likely to source its e-setup from the Nexon EV Prime. The latter comes with the 30.2kWh battery and a 129bhp electric motor. The subcompact electric SUV promises an ARAI-certified range of 312km on a single charge. The Tata Nexon EV Max, the long-range version, features a 40.5kWh battery pack and delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 437km.

The carmaker will make a few EV-specific cosmetic changes. The Tata Altroz EV will feature a closed-off grille, differently designed front and rear bumpers, air dams with star pattern, a new set of alloy wheels with blue highlights and blacked-out tailgate section with slightly repositioned badge. Inside, the electric hatchback might have lighter upholstery and a rotary gear selector.

Feature-wise, the electric Altroz will offer a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, keyless entry with push-button start-stop, iRA connected car tech, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers.

Reports suggest that Tata Motors might also showcase the Tata Altroz Sport at the 2023 Auto Expo. The model will employ a 1.2L turbo petrol engine (120bhp/170Nm) with a 6-speed manual gearbox (sourced from Nexon SUV). It will be positioned against the Hyundai i20 N-Line.
