2021 Audi Q5 Sportback Unveiled; To Rival BMW X4, Mercedes GLC

German automaker, Audi has officially unveiled the new Audi Q5 Sportback. The Q5 Sportback is a coupe based on the Audi Q5 facelift, which is scheduled to be launched in our market in 2021. The new Q5 Sportback will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. It will directly rival the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.

In terms of styling, the Audi Q5 gets Coupe proportions with swooping roofline, and a built-in spoiler. Except for the Coupe profile, the 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback gets all the changes that are offered in the Q5 facelift. Upfront is a single-frame grille, large air vents in the front bumper and Matrix LED headlamps. The company is giving alloys with sizes starting from 18-inches to 21-inches. At the back, the Coupe gets silver treatment on the lower bumper and a chrome strip that connects the tail-lamps. The Audi Q5 Sportback comes fitted with OLED tail-lamps with customers have options to choose between different lighting setups.

The Audi Q5 Sportback interior looks largely identical to the one offered in the Q5 facelift. It comes fitted with a 12.3-inch instrument console with a heads-up display. There is a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. It has Audi’s new MIB 3 or Modular Infotainment Platform, which is claimed to be 10 times faster than its predecessor. The Q5 Sportback also has connected car technology with swarm intelligence that can help the driver about weather conditions, finding free parking spot, etc.

With Coupe roofline and steeply raked tailgate, the Q5 Sportback offers just 10-litres less boot space as compared to the standard Q5. It has 510-litres of boot space, which is raised to 570-litres with the adjustable rear seat package.

The Audi Q5 Sportback is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 204bhp and a peak torque of 400Nm. For transmitting power, the engine is paired to a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is transmitted to wheels via Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The engine also gets a mild-hybris system that cuts off the engine with car moving without using power. The Euro 6 compliant diesel engine has an AdBlue-equipped dual-SCR system. At the later stage, the Sportback gets a 4-cylinder TFSI petrol engine and a larger and more powerful V6 diesel.
