Skoda Slavia Launch Date 28th February – Test Drives, Delivery Details

Skoda Auto has announced that it will launch the new Slavia mid-size sedan in India this month. The model lineup will be made available in three trims – Active, Ambition and Style – and two engine options – 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI and 1.5L, 4-cylinder TSI petrol. Prices of the Skoda Slavia 1.0L petrol version will be announced on 28th February, while the 1.5L TSI variants will go on sale on 3rd March 2022. Test drives and deliveries will begin with respective launch dates.

Production of the sedan is already underway at the company’s Chakan facility. It will come as a replacement to the Rapid, which has already been discontinued in the country. In the mid-size sedan segment, the Slavia will face challenge from cars like Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.

Built on the MQB A0 IN platform, the Slavia sedan carries design language similar to the Octavia and Superb. The model measures 4541mm in length, 1752mm in width and 1487mm in height with a wheelbase of 2651mm. With the longest wheelbase in the segment, the new Skoda sedan offers ample cabin space even for rear seat passengers.

The interior layout and features of the Skoda Slavia are similar to the Kushaq SUV. Its dashboard has a four-layer dashboard design and the beige glovebox, piano black panel and round AC vents seem borrowed from the Kushaq. For connectivity purpose, the sedan offers a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

The list of features also includes a full digital instrument cluster with three different themes, an electric sunroof, dedicated twin USB-C ports for the rear passengers, wireless charging pad, rain and light sensors, touch-control Climatronic with air car and cruise control. Skoda has packed the sedan with lots of safety goodies including 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, hill hold control, Isofix anchors, rear view camera, electronic stability control and multi-collision brake.
