Skoda, the Czech automaker, has unveiled a tantalizing teaser for the upcoming Skoda Octavia facelift, providing a glimpse of its silhouette, illuminated signature logo, and new headlamps. The teaser further confirms that the sedan’s revamped model is set to make its global debut in February 2024, with the specific date yet to be announced. The Octavia, currently in its fourth generation globally since its introduction in mid-2021, is set to undergo a significant update.
While Skoda has not officially confirmed the Octavia facelift’s arrival in the Indian market, speculation is rife that the company might introduce the Octavia RS iV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain in limited units in the country. Skoda has ambitious plans for the Indian market, including the introduction of products such as the Superb executive sedan, the new Kodiaq SUV, and the all-new Enyaq iV EV.
Globally, the Skoda Octavia is available with a diverse range of powertrain options, including a 110bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol, a 150bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol with mild hybrid tech, a 2.0L turbo petrol with 245bhp, a 1.4L plug-in hybrid, and a 2.0L diesel with options of 115bhp and 200bhp. The engine options are expected to remain unchanged, with the possibility of the higher trim exclusively offering the AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
The anticipated changes to the new Skoda Octavia facelift include a slightly revised front grille, newly-designed headlamps with diagonally placed LED DRLs, and a tweaked front bumper. Spy images suggest the possibility of new alloy wheels, updated taillamps, and an updated rear bumper. While interior details remain under wraps, expectations include a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The interior is likely to feature a 10-inch driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, hands-free parking, a Canton sound system, a powered co-driver seat with memory function, a powered boot lid with hands-free opening, dual-zone climate control, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill start assist, electronic differential lock, fatigue alert, multiple airbags, and more.
