After series of teasers, Skoda has now finally revealed the new generation Superb sedan in the global markets. The new Skoda Superb 2024 comes with significantly revised exterior, interior and a new range of features along with new powertrain options.
The new Skoda Superb 2024 follows the brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The new model retains the overall shape, but it now features several new design parts. It comes with the signature Skoda grille flanked by newly styled LED lights and a new signature for the LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). It features an all-new bumper that now accommodates a larger air dam with sharp cuts and creases.
The overall silhouette is similar to the previous model, except for the new set of alloys. The alloy wheel sizes can go up to 19 inches. The rear profile has also been revised, featuring revised LED tail-lights and the updated bumper. The wheelbase of the new Superb has remained intact at 2841mm, there are some changes to the model’s proportions. The sedan is now 15mm narrower, 43mm longer and 12mm taller than its predecessor. The boot space has been increased by 20-litres to 645-litres.
The cabin of the new Skoda Superb 2024 is completely revised, featuring all-new scheme and dashboard layout. It features the dual-tone interior theme with silver inserts and premium upholstery. It features a new 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment screen and three dials for the HVAC controls. The centre console looks clean with minimal buttons and the dials for the HVAC controls have small displays within it.
In terms of features, the new generation Skoda Superb 2024 comes with ambient lighting, a premium sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation functions, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless phone charging, and USB-C fast charging. The sedan also has a new 10.25-inch digital instrument console. For safety and security, the new Superb gets multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The ADAS tech will offer features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, etc.
The new gen Skoda Superb is offered with two hybrid powertrains – a 150PS, 1.5-litre mild-hybrid, and a 204PS, 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid. The latter comes fitted with a 25.7kWh battery pack and is claimed to offer a range of up to 100km on electric power only. The sedan also gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine offers two states of tunes – 204bhp and 265bhp with latter offered with all-wheel-drive layout. The diesel engine can be had with either 150bhp (FWD) and 193bhp (AWD).
The India-spec model is most likely to be offered with a turbo petrol engine. The plug-in hybrid version is offered with a 6-speed DSG (Dual Clutch Automatic) transmission, while the rest of the versions are offered with a 7-speed DSG.
