The Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch the new Creta facelift in the country on January 16, 2024. In fact, Hyundai dealers have released the exterior and interior pictures of the Creta facelift. Interested customers can book the new SUV online or at authorised Hyundai dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. The SUV will be offered in 7 variants – E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O). The SUV will be offered in 3 engine options – a new 1.5L turbo petrol, a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, and a 1.5L turbo diesel. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, iVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission), 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), and 6-speed automatic. Kia had revealed the Sonet facelift in December 2023. The SUV is scheduled to be launched in January 2024. Customers can book the new Kia Sonet online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 20,000. The SUV comes with significant design changes and an all-new cabin with several segment-first features. It is available in 3 trim levels – HT-Line, GT-Line and the X-Line – and in total of 7 variants – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+ and X-Line. The SUV will come with design changes and a significantly revised interior along with several segment-leading features. It comes with segment-first panoramic sunroof along with an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology. The SUV will have a larger freestanding infotainment system with an enhanced user interface, a 360 degree camera, a digital instrument console, ventilated front seats, TPMS, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and others. Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the next generation Swift hatchback in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2024, most probably in February. The new Swift is based on the heavily modified HEARTECT platform that underpins the Baleno and the Fronx. It retains the overall profile; however, it has more styling changes in the form of new grille, headlamp & tail-lamp, and new bumpers. The big changes will be made inside the cabin, which is inspired from the Baleno. It will be powered by a 1.2L DOHC engine that produces 82bhp and 108Nm of torque. The mild hybrid version comes with a DC synchronous motor, offering an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively. Tata Motors is all set to introduce the electric version of the Punch micro SUV in the country in the next couple of years. It will be positioned against the Citroen eC3 and the upcoming small EVs including the Baojun Yep based micro electric SUV and the Hyundai Exter based EV. The electric SUV will be available in two trims – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LT) – similar to the Nexon EV. The powertrain setup will feature a permanent magnet synchronous motor coupled with a liquid-cooled battery. It will be based on Tata’s Gen 2 EV platform (SIGMA), which is essentially a modified version of the Alpha architecture.
