Skoda Auto has introduced two new variants of the Kushaq midsize SUV and Slavia sedan. Now, both models are available in 1.5L Ambition trims with manual and automatic gearboxes. The Skoda Kushaq 1.5L Ambition manual and automatic variants are priced at Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 16.79 lakh respectively. The 1.5L Ambition automatic can also be had in dual-tone colour schemes – Carbon Steel with Silver roof and Honey Orange with Black roof. It costs Rs 16.84 lakh.
The Skoda Slavia 1.5L Ambition is being offered at Rs 14.94 lakh (MT) and Rs 16.24 lakh (AT). The automatic version comes in Crystal Blue with Black roof and Carbon Steel with Silver roof dual-tone paint schemes. The AT dual-tone version has been priced at Rs 16.29 lakh.

All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Earlier, the 1.5L turbo petrol engine was available only in the Style trim of both models.
The 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo TSI motor has been boosted with Active Cylinder Technology that enhances its fuel efficiency. Now, the gasoline unit meets the RDE norms and it’s compatible with E20 blended fuel. With this upgrade, it’s claimed to deliver 7 percent better fuel efficiency. The power and torque of the 1.5L petrol engine stand at 148bhp and 250Nm respectively. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
The Skoda Kushaq and Slavia also come with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. It generates a peak power of 115bhp and 175Nm of torque. The motor returns a claimed mileage of 19.47kmpl and 18.07kmpl with manual and automatic gearbox respectively.
In terms of competition, the Kushaq takes on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Slavia is the direct rival of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
