Skoda Celebrates 1 Year Of Kushaq With New Feature Updates

Skoda Kushaq SUV has completed 1 year in the Indian market. To mark the occasion, Skoda has added a series of new features in the Kushaq line-up. For people not in the know, the Kushaq was the first product to be launched under Skoda Auto’s India 2.0 Project. It also marks the debut of VW Group’s global MQB AO platform, which underpins the VW Taigun, Skoda Slavia and the VW Virtus.

The Skoda Kushaq now comes with a new headliner inside the cabin. Adding to it, the SUV gets a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard. It now has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with buttons for select functions. The 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine is now equipped with start-stop recuperation system. It is claimed to improve the overall fuel efficiency by 7 to 9 per cent.

Adding to it, Skoda has also introduced a new non-sunroof Style variant. Priced at Rs 15.09 lakh, the new Style NSR model is positioned between the Ambition and the Style Sunroof variants. The non-sunroof Style variant or Style (NSR) features a 1.0-litre petrol engine. This variant comes equipped with a 4-dial medium analogue instrument cluster and a six-speed manual gearbox. On the flip side, the Style Sunroof variant has an 8-inch Virtual Cockpit for the driver’s instrument console.

The Skoda Kushaq is available with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI. While the former is good for 114bhp and 178Nm, the turbo unit produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with 1.0L TSI and a 7-speed DSG with 1.5L TSI.
