The new Honda Civic Type R is based on the recently revealed Civic e:HEV. The new sporty model has lower and wider stance for sportier look. It has flared wheel arches and lightweight 19-inch matte black alloy wheels, shod with bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. It comes with a larger lower grille that maximises airflow to the engine. The bonnet has a vent to further improve airflow around the front end.

The large aperture vents behind the front wheels and a larger rear diffuser further improves the aerodynamics of the Civic Type R. The rear spoiler has been angled rearward to suppress air resistance. Supported by new aluminium die-cast mounts, the rear wing sits lower but wider than the previous model, accentuating the sleek new roofline and wider stance.
