Royal Enfield Super Meteor & Shotgun 650cc Motorcycles To Debut In 2022

Royal Enfield is preparing a wide range of new motorcycles ranging from an entry-level 350cc Classic to a powerful 650cc cruiser. The company will soon launch the Scram 411, which is based on the Himalayan 650. Moreover, the company plans to launch two new 650cc motorcycles in the country in 2022-23.

The Royal Enfield is working on an all-new 650cc cruiser motorcycle, which is most likely to be called the RE Super Meteor. Adding to it, the company is preparing a single-seater 650cc bike for the Indian market. Rumoured to be called the Shotgun, the new motorcycle was unveiled as SG650 cruiser concept at the 2022 EICMA.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor Features

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is expected to share its powertrain with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The bike will get a 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine boosted with fuel injection technology. This engine produces 47S and 52Nm of torque. The cruiser will have a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.

The new RE Shotgun will also share the same 650cc engine and gearbox combination. For suspension duties, the bikes will have USD front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The new cruisers will have disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard.

Royal Enfield SG650 Concept

The Super Meteor will have a circular headlamp, a large visor for wind protection, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with thick tyres, forward foot pegs, round tail-lamps with turn indicators and a twin-pipe exhaust system. The new motorcycles will have digital instrument console with tripper navigation.

The RE Shotgun will share the styling cues from the SG650 concept. The motorcycle will have aluminum and black colourway, round headlamp with integrated position lights, a single seat , USD fron forks, etc.
