Royal Enfield SG650 Concept Bike Revealed – New 650cc Cruiser

Royal Enfield has revealed the new SG650 concept motorcycle at the 2021 EICMA. The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept previews the new 650cc cruiser motorcycle that is scheduled to be launched in India and other markets in the next few months. The company has also revealed the 120th anniversary edition of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650.

The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept based cruiser motorcycle is most likely to be called the Shotgun. The company has recently trademarked the RE Shotgun name in India. Royal Enfield said that the SG650 concept shows the brand’s future design theme.

The concept motorcycle was finished in brushed aluminum and black colourway along with a digital graphics scheme. The front has a round headlamp with integrated position lights. There is a cowl that surrounds the headlight and covers the instrument console.

The side profile has a chunky fuel tank with RE badge finished in Blue. It is a single-seater Bobber concept. The tank and the wheels have been CNC billet machined from a solid block of aluminum. The rear profile has chopped fender that looks good. It features fat Metzeler tyres.

The concept looks like pre-production model, as several bodyparts and features are production ready. The frame, suspension set-up, switchgears and fuel tank design seems production-spec. The motorcycle features USD front forks and twin shock absorbers. It is likely to share the braking system with the RE 650 twins – 320mm disc at front and 240mm disc at rear. Dual-channel ABS system will come as standard.

Royal Enfield SG650 cruiser concept

The new Royal Enfield SG650 concept based motorcycle is likely to source the engine and gearbox combination with the RE 650 twins. It is a 650cc parallel twin engine that produces 47bhp at 7,150rpm and a peak torque of 52Nm at 5,250rpm. This engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
