Royal Enfield’s stable has been buzzing with activity lately, as the Chennai-based bikemaker is testing several future motorcycles ranging from 350cc to 750cc, all set to hit the market within the next 2-3 years. The highly anticipated next launch from Royal Enfield will be the new-generation Bullet 350, scheduled to go on sale on August 30. Following this, we can expect the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 to make its debut, marking the company’s first bike with a liquid-cooled engine and fully-digital instrument cluster.

In addition, there are strong indications that Royal Enfield might introduce a special variant or accessorised version of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, which was launched earlier this year. This speculation arises from recent sightings of the cruiser with bagger-style panniers in Chennai. Notably, the bikemaker had showcased the RE Super Meteor 650 with accessories at Rider Mania last year. The showcased model boasted circular LED indicators, a raised wider handlebar for improved touring, extended aluminum touring mirrors, larger footpegs, lockable hard case panniers on either side, a bash plate, a crash guard, a backrest, and a luggage rack.

The official list of accessories for the cruiser is categorized into Solo Tourer and Grand Tourer kits. The Solo Tourer package includes a single seat, bar end mirrors, machined wheels, deluxe footpegs, a luggage rack over the rear fender, and LED indicators. On the other hand, the Grand Tourer kit is more focused on touring, featuring a dual and contoured seat, a touring windscreen and handlebar, a backrest for the pillion, LED indicators, and panniers for luggage.

As of now, there is no official word on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 bagger’s launch or its timeline. For those in the know, the bikemaker had previously announced that the panniers and mounts would cost an additional Rs 13,500 and Rs 4,500, respectively. Hence, it is expected that the bike’s new bagger-style version will be priced similarly.
