Mahindra XUV400 With More Safety Features Coming Soon

Mahindra & Mahindra has some exciting plans in store, with the unveiling of new concepts scheduled for August 15, 2023. Among the highlights are the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup truck and an electric version of the Thar off-road SUV, along with a range of commercial vehicles. Additionally, the company has plans to update the XUV300 and XUV400 SUV lineups in the near future. While official details are yet to be disclosed, reports suggest that the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV’s EL trim will soon receive enhanced safety features.

The top-end trim of the XUV400 electric SUV is set to receive several new features, including hill hold assist, electronic stability program, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, front fog lamps, and a tire pressure monitoring system. It will also be equipped with two tweeters on top of the existing four speakers and a boot lamp. These updates have been prompted by extensive customer feedback, as per a leaked document.

The EL trim already offers some exclusive features, such as a 4-speaker audio system, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a rear-view camera, 6 airbags, auto headlamps and wipers, projector headlamps, and 16-inch alloy wheels. A major highlight will be the introduction of a panoramic sunroof for both the Mahindra XUV400 and XUV300.

In terms of powertrain options, the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be available with two battery pack options – 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh – powering an electric motor producing 150bhp and 310Nm of torque, mounted on the front axle. The former offers a claimed range of 375km, while the latter promises 456km on a single charge as per the MIDC (the Indian driving cycle). The XUV400 electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 150kmph. It also offers three driving modes – Fun, Fast, and Fearless – for adjusting the steering, throttle response, and level of regenerative braking.
