Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Unveiled – All Key Details

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has finally been unveiled at the 2022 EICMA. The bike might make its first appearance in India at the Royal Enfield Rider Mania that will be held from 18th to 20th November 2022 in Goa. Its market launch is expected to happen early next year (possibly in January 2023). The bike model lineup will come in two variants – Standard and Touring. In India, it will be positioned directly against the Kawasaki Vulcan S. Here’re key details of the all-new RE Super Meteor 650 cruiser.

Engine Power

For power, the new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 uses the 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine borrowed from the RE 650cc twins. The fuel injected motor returns a claimed power of 47PS and 52Nm of torque. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slip-assist clutch.

Suspension, Braking, Tyres

The new Royal Enfield 650cc bike comes with the 43mml USD forks and dual rear shock absorbers suspension units at the front and rear axles respectively. Braking power for the Super Meteor comes from a 320mm front and a 300mm rear disc brakes, which are further assisted by the dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). It has been assembled with 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels with CEAT Zoom Cruze tyres measuring 100/90 – 19 M/C 57H front and 150/80 B16 M/C 71H rear. Dimensions

The RE Super Meteor 650 has wheelbase of 1500mm and its overall length, width and height stand at 2260mm, 890mm and 1155mm respectively. The bike offers a seat height of 740mm and fuel tank capacity of 15.7-litres. Compared to the Meteor 350, its seat height is 25mm lower. The company says that the cruiser has driving noise of 76.3 dB (A). The new Royal Enfield 650cc bike comes with a kerb weight of 241kgs (with 90% fuel and oil).

Design, Features

The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 shares its platform with the Meteor 350 – i.e. ‘J’ platform. The bike carries a new round LED headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, retro-styled winged logo, wide handlebar, new side panels, forward set foot pegs, and a completely new tail section. The round taillamp, mirrors, indicators and instrument cluster further enhance its retro looks. The higher variant will have silver finish alloy components and the lower variant will get alloy with blacked-out treatment.

The twin-pod semi-digital instrument console has silver finish with tripper navigation system. Its non-adjustable hand levers and front brake master cylinder are sourced from the RE Meteor 350. The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc is the brand’s first bike to feature cast aluminum, old-school rotary style switchgear. The bike has a scooped seat ensuring better comfort and lumbar support.
