Royal Enfield Records 60% Growth; Hunter In Great Demand

In October 2022, Royal Enfield managed to sell 82,235 units against 44,133 units of the same duration last year. The company registered a sales growth of 60%, thanks to the festive season. The export numbers stood at 5,707 units as opposed to 3,522 units in October 2021. That means, the Chennai-based bikemaker witnessed an export growth of 62%.

B Govidarajan, CEO Royal Enfield, said that the company recoded its highest ever monthly sales in October. Launched in August 2022, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has been generating volume of the company. He also revealed that Royal Enfield rolled out the 50,000th unit of the Hunter bike in October 2022.

The Royal Enfield Hunter comes in two variants – Retro and Metro – priced at Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1.64 lakh respectively. Based on the brand’s new J-platform, the bike uses a 349cc engine making 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and 27Nm at 4,000rpm. While the Metro comes with the 270mm rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS, the Retro gets a rear drum brake and single-channel ABS. The lower Retro variant has a basic instrument cluster along with the conventional tubular grab rails and halogen taillamp. The Metro trim has been equipped with slightly different instrument, sleeker and stylish rear grab rails and LED taillamps.

Talking about Royal Enfield’s future plan, the company recently confirmed that it will unveil the all-new RE Super Meteor 650cc cruiser on 8th November. The debut will happen at the 2022 EICMA in Milan, Italy. The bike will share its platform and powertrain with the RE 650cc twins. It will come with the 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine benefited with fuel injection technology.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 will have retro-styled design language featuring a round headlamp, large non-adjustable windshield, chromed crash guards, a flatter rear fender, alloy wheels and a twin pipe exhaust system.
