Toyota Innova Hycross – January
The Japanese automaker confirmed that the all-new Innova Hycross will make its global debut on 25th November 2022. Prices of the MPV will be revealed at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. It’s one of the much-anticipated upcoming new MPVs in India. Powertrain system of the Toyota Innova HyCross will include a new 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine with the strong hybrid technology. In order to price it competitively, the company might use the localized version of the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II). Maruti C-Segment MPV – H2, 2023
Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming C-segment MPV will be the brand’s first Toyota re-badged model in the country. It will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, but have slightly different styling. Being a premium product, the new Maruti MPV will be sold via Nexa dealership. Similar to the Innova Hycross, it will underpin Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and come with heavily localized hybrid system. The three-row MPV will be available with RWD (rear-wheel drive) system. Hyundai Stargazer – 2023
If reports are to be believed, the South Korean automaker is planning to foray into the compact MPV segment in India. The company might bring in the Hyundai Stargazer that’s already on sale in Indonesia. The model derives its power from a 1.5L MPI petrol engine delivering power worth 115bhp. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed MT and IVT automatic. The Stargazer comes with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite along with Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, automatic AC, wireless charging and full LED lighting. New-Gen Kia Carnival – 2023
Kia Motor might introduce the new-generation Carnival MPV sometime next year. Compared to the current-generation, the new one is longer, wider, taller and more spacious. It has 30mm longer wheelbase than before. In global markets, the 2023 Kia Carnival comes with 3.5L V6 MPi petrol, 2.2L Smartstream and 3.5L GDi V6 Smartstream engine options. In India, the MPV will come with the 2.2L diesel engine making 200bhp and 440Nm.
