Royal Enfield unveiled the SG650 concept motorcycle at the ongoing EICMA 2021 in Milan, Italy. Alongside, the two-wheeler showcased the Royal Enfield 120th Year Anniversary Edition of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The Royal Enfield SG650 concept previews the brand’s upcoming 650cc cruiser bike that’s rumoured to hit Indian roads in coming months.

The Chennai-based bikemaker has been testing multiple new models in India for a while. RE’s upcoming model lineup will include Super Meteor 650, Classic 650cc roadster and 4 new 350cc motorcycles.

Talking about the Royal Enfield SG650 concept, the model has plenty of aluminum treatment including on the LED headlamp, mud guard, fuel tank with blue and black body graphics. It has low-set, wide handlebars, a single piece rider seat and centre-set foot pegs that appear similar to the Classic 350. One can notice that the seat has hand-stitched black leather covering. The fuel tank and rims have been made of CNC billet machine from the solid aluminum block.

Styling bits such as circular headlamp (with integrated position lights) and taillamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, sporty front and rear fenders and bar end rear view mirrors give it classic-retro look. The SG650 concept has been assembled with the fat Metzeler tyres. The model seems to be its near-production form especially when you look at its rear shock absorbers, USD fork, frame, foot pegs and switchgear.

The test mules of the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser seem to carry the similar equipment. The Royal Enfield SG650 concept features the 648cc, parallel-twin engine that does duty in the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 twins. The motor has been tuned for generating a peak power of 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.
