Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Coming In Last Week Of September

The Chennai-based bikemaker is ready to bring in its all-new 350cc motorcycle – the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. While the company hasn’t yet revealed its launch date, a latest media report claims that it will arrive in late September (possibly between 25th – 30th),2020.

The RE Meteor, which is essentially the successor of the Thunderbird 350 X, will be offered in three variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. The Fireball (Yellow and Red) and Stellar (Matte Black, Metallic Gloss Red and Metallic Gloss Blue) trims will come in a choice of monotone shades, the fully-loaded Supernova trim will be available in dual-tone Brown and Blue colours.

Interestingly, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be the brand’s first model to receive tripper navigation system as standard along with the Bluetooth connectivity. Features such as machined alloy wheels, chrome indicators, wind screen and premium seat finishes will be reserved for the top-end trim. The bike will be riding on 100/90-19 front and 140/70-17 rear Ceat and Ace tyres respectively. It will offer a fuel tank capacity of 15-litres.

Unlike the existing RE BS6 engines that have archaic tappet-valve configuration, the RE Meteor 350 will come a new motor featuring OHC (Overhead Cam) arrangement. This new system not only will enhance the bike’s overall performance, but reduce vibrations as well. The power and torque figures of the new RE 350 engine are yet to be revealed by the bikemaker. Though, it’s likely to be higher than its replacement unit that makes 20bhp and 28Nm. For performing transmission duties, it will have a 5-speed gearbox.

The Meteor 350 will also be Royal Enfield’s first production model to be designed on the all-new J1C0 platform. The same architecture will also underpin the new-generation RE Classic and Bullet that are due for the next year. Significant cosmetic changes will also be made to the RE Meteor 350 making it look more evolved and refreshing than the Thunderbird 350 X.
