Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Launch In August – What To Expect?

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is ready to hit Indian roads in the month of August. While its official launch date and details are yet to be revealed, the bikemaker has organized the first ride event for its upcoming new bike between 4th – 8th August, 2022. It’s most likely be the RE Hunter 350 that has been on test for a long time. Once launched, it will be the most affordable Royal Enfield motorcycle that’s estimated to cost around Rs 1.3 lakh – Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom). It is likely to be priced around Rs 10,000 lower than the Bullet, which is currently the cheapest RE in India.

The new Royal Enfield bike is reported to be offered in two variants, codenamed J1C1 and J1C2. The top-end variant (i.e. J1C2) could be equipped with the single channel ABS (antilock braking system) as we have seen in the Bullet 350 and Classic 350 Redditch series. It will have a 153mm drum brake at the rear wheel. The J1C1 will be offered with dual channel ABS and get rear disc brake. Suspension setup will include the conventional telescopic forks upfront and dual rear shock absorbers.

The new RE Hunter 350 will be designed on the brand’s new ‘J’ platform, which is already used in the Meteor 350. Besides sharing chassis, the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will use the Meteor’s 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motor, with OHC setup and a 6-speed gearbox, offers power worth 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. In order to give it a sportier exhaust note, the company might retune it or change character of the engine.

Some of its design elements will include a circular headlamp and rear view mirrors, wire-spoke wheels, rounded fuel tank, single piece seat, compact exhaust and short tail section. The alloy wheels might come as optional offerings. The new Royal Enfield bike could be packed with twin-pod instrument console and tripper navigation system.
