Korean automaker, Kia has revised the Carnival range in the Indian market. The company has launched a new 6-seater variant of the Kia Carnival. This variant offers captain seats for all three rows, and is based on mid-spec Prestige trim. The 6-seater Carnival is available at a price tag of Rs 28.95 lakh.
Kia India has also discontinued the 9-seater derivative of the Carnival MPV. The Kia Carnival range is now available in 6-, 7- and 8-seater configurations. The 6-seater Carnival offers a boot space of 540-litres, whic is more than the 7- and 8-seater variants. The boot space can be further extended to 1,624-litres and to 2,759-litres by folding the third-row and the second-row seats respectively.
The Kia Carnival is powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 200bhp of maximum power and 440Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The MPV is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 13.9kmpl.
In terms of safety features, the 6-seater Carnival offers electronic stability control, hill start assist control, roll over mitigation, cornering brake control, side and curtain airbags, front parking sensors, ABS with EBD, disc brakes, etc. The MPV comes loaded with high-end features such as LED projector headlamps & LED position lamps, LED ice cube fog lamps, LED tail-lights, smart power tailgate, dual panel electric sunroof, LED interior lights, powered ORVMs, leatherette seats, 3-row sliding seats, driver seat 2-way electric lumbar support, laptop charger, cruise control, triple zone climate control with auto defogger, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
The Kia Carnival range is available in the price tag of Rs 24.95 lakh to Rs 33.99 lakh. The MPV has received positive response, as Kia manages to sell close to 400-500 units per month. Kia India is also planning to launch a new 7-seater model based on the Seltos platform.
