Royal Enfield Himalayan GT Spotted – What To Expect?

Royal Enfield introduced the updated Himalayan adventure tourer a couple of months ago. The bike received Tripper navigation system, tweaks for better comfort and new colour schemes along with the hefty price hike. Now, the company is working on a new variant of the Himalayan that was recently spotted testing in the country.

The new model is likely to be a road-biased version of the adventure tourer. While there is no official word on its name and launch timeline, the new variant is likely to be called Royal Enfield Himalayan GT and might arrive towards the end of year.

Royal Enfield Himalayan GT Specs

Painted in Matte Black shade, the test mule features smaller 19-inch wheels with road-biased tyres. Its front wire-spoke rim looks similar to the current generation RE Classic 350. The final model is likely to be offered with the alloy wheels. Its off-road version comes with the 21-inch wheels and 120/80 R17 tyres. The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan GT misses out on the windscreen, side frame, fork gaiters and a luggage rack. Compared to the off-road version, the road-biased Himalayan features shorter rear fender, revised tank extensions and different headlamp and indicator mounting points. The new Royal Enfield Himalayan variant will come with a single-pod instrument cluster with Tripper navigation as we have seen in the RE Meteor 350.

Royal Enfield Himalayan GT Features

For power, the Royal Enfield Himalayan GT might use the same 411cc, single-cylinder engine. Though, the motor could be tuned for generating extra power. It could also be more refined than the existing one. In its current form, the engine produces a peak power of 24.8PS and 32Nm of torque. The suspension setup and braking mechanism could also be tweaked. The existing model comes with the telescopic front forks and pre-load adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. It has front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS.
